Images-1 Thanks to Andrew Dickerson and associates at the Georgia Institute of Technology, we now know how fast a wet dog must oscillate in order to dry its fur. Filming a variety of soaked pooches, the scientists developed a mathematical model determining the speed a dog must shake to create adequate centripetal forces to pull the water away from its body. For a Labrador retriever, it’s 4.3 Hertz. Ain’t science great? MIT Tech Review.
