Could there be anything dumber than stealing a police car and then going out and pretending to be a police man? How about swiping a 20-foot Boston Whaler belonging to the Florida Fish and Wildlife law enforcement division from a marina? Michael Scott Noble, 59, was apprehended this week by the U.S.Coast Guard on the St. Johns River and charged with grand theft, impersonating an officer and unlawful use of police badges or other indications of authority. Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies responding to a report of a 7-foot alligator near an elementary school this morning were able to rope the reptile’s neck and tail, wrap its mouth with electrical tape and secure its hind legs with regulation handcuffs. Florida Fish and Wildlife authorities also took custody of the gator until the state trapper arrived at the scene. St. Pete Times and Tampa Tribune.
