Wisconsin deer hunters may encounter cougar

6As Wisconsin hunters prepare for the opening of deer firearms season, the Department of Natural Resources is telling those in the west central and northern portions of the state to be on the lookout for a young male mountain lion that has been recorded by remote trail cameras three times in recent weeks. Cougars are protected in Wisconsin, and can only be shot in self defense or to prevent harm to another human. Wisconsin Ag Connection.
