66032300Suzan Merritt, 38, of Jackson, Pa. received lacerations to her head, neck and arms Thursday night after she discovered a black bear attacking her German shepherd in her backyard and attempted to intervene. “I wouldn’t necessarily classify it as an attack,” said Wildlife CO Tim Conway. “It was more of a defensive motion by the bear, and it involved a bear, dog and, unfortunately, the woman got in the middle of it.” Times Tribune¬†and Morning Call.
