DownloadedFileOfficials at Jacksonville (Fl.) Zoo and Gardens say a male white-backed African Vulture escaped from the facility Thursday after a device intended to keep it grounded malfunctioned, allowing it to fly away. The public is asked to notify the zoo if they spot the bird named Hodari, which is described as dark-plumaged with a white back and ring of neck feathers, big wingspan and a bare head and neck.
