9171781 When Juneau, AK resident saw a black bear attacking her dachshund named Fudge in her backyard Sunday evening and “carrying her like a salmon,” the 22-year-old reacted instinctively, socking the big bruin directly in its nose. “It was a stupid thing but I couldn’t help it,” she said. “I know you’re not supposed to do that but I didn’t want my dog to be killed.” Fudge suffered some bite and claw wounds, but is outherwise fine.
