There’s a Bunch of Ropes on Everest, in Case You Want to Go Climb It

Yesterday a team of six Sherpas marched up Mount Everest stringing 1600 meters of rope along the way. They left from Camp 2 at 1am and were only supposed to go to the Balcony that day, but decided to set all the way to the summit since it was going smoothly. They hit the tip at 4pm to throw some high-fives and walk back down. They own the first six summits of the season, and now that the heavy lifting is done everyone who took two months off work and paid their $75k for the trip can make their own attempts. Good luck climbers! Via Backcountry
