Introduced to eat rats, ‘possums run amok in Brooklyn
Doesn’t this remind you of their was an old lady story who swallowed a fly story. They will bring in Coyotes to take care of the possums. From the “It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time” Department comes a story out of Brooklyn, where in 2007 the Community Board decided to introduce opossums into areas of the borough in need of rat control. Well, the possums didn’t much care for rats, but kinda liked garbage and fruit found in the trees there. “They are everywhere,” said Theresa Scavo, chairwoman for Community Board 15. “Didn’t any of those brain surgeons realize that the opossums were going to multiply?” NY Post.
