Authorities in Missoula County, Mont. say a 200-pound black bear took an aggressive swipe at a Frenchtown woman after she discovered it attacking her 12-year-old collie on her back porch just after midnight Wednesday. Lt. Rich Maricelli said the woman reached for the nearest object to use as a potential weapon—a 12-inch zucchini from her garden—flinging it at the bruin’s head and causing it to flee. Via AP.
