Flying carp knocks kayaker from race contention

Images An airborne 30-pound Asian carp was responsible for knocking a world-class Texas kayaker out of contention in a 340-mile Missouri River race that began Tuesday in Kansas City, Kan. Houston resident Brad Pennington had been considered a favorite among men’s solo racers in the Missouri River 340 before the smack down occurred. “I got face-slapped by a flying fish,” Pennington said.
