Guest fined for letting python roam ‘pet friendly’ hotel
The 25-year-old guest who let his 5-year-old bull python loose in a hallway of the normally “pet friendly” Mason City, Iowa Holiday Inn was charged with a violation of the city’s animal control ordinance and fined $65. “The man was a guest at the hotel. The snake was not,” said hotel manager Brandy Smith Branstad. “We like to think of ourselves as pet friendly,” she said, “but when we say that, we really mean cats and dogs.” The Globe-Gazette.
