Wyoming wind energy, wildlife guidelines approved

Despite complaints from private property owners, the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission has unanimously approved new wildlife protection guidelines for wind energy development in the state. The 70-page document—covering bats, birds, big game, small mammals, amphibians and reptiles—includes rules for collecting baseline data before siting turbines and monitoring wildlife during wind farm construction and operation.
