Deer with record rack dies of infection

Sudden ImpactLone Star Outdoor News reports this week that a whitetail buck with the largest antlers on record—a rack scoring 492—died recently at a private ranch in Wisconsin. Known as Sudden Impact, the 3-year-old buck’s fatal infection reportedly began in its antlers but was discovered too late to be successfully treated.
